NDT overview

Product Life cycle is dependent upon the quality of the product for which it has been designed. To validate the product quality one requires to carry out destructive testing which is expensive or nondestructive method which is more economical but has a cost. Traditional methods based upon film radiography, ultrasonics, eddy currents, dye penetrant testing have been used in the industry since four decades. With the evolving technology the above methods have become refined where NDT costs can be considerably reduced. CIT digital radiography is one of these technology that has had a impact on the product inspection methods. This digital radiography provides a new innovative method which replaces X-ray fims, darkroom processing and conventional archives. Instead it has uses computer systems with electronic archiving. X-ray capture using direct or reuseable digital imaging plate technologyis used. NDT department can now modernise their radiographic facility with a new approach which is cost effective.
