Radiograph Film Digitization Technology

Radiograph Film Digitization Technology

The introduction of radiograph film digitization into the major utilities construction industrial projects enables the owners [governments, public sector, private enterprises] of the process/plant/products to have electronic records in permanent archives. These electronic records satisfy all the legal local rules and international standards and have life span of more than 50 years. This longevity of the NDE data life ensures that all the information becomes a part of the product life cycle of that entity.

Electronic records have much lower cost of ownership in terms of both equipment and human resources, which are required to maintain the information during the operational lifespan. This is compared against the current cost of physical and labour intensive efforts required to maintain manual archives.

CIT’s NDT radiography lifetime quality records management archive system fulfils the above described objectives. Now with the DR3000 radiograph film digitization technology the owners can receive the electronic records digitally. These can be delivered to them by their EPC, prime contractors, NDT sub-contractors with the viewing package that enables the owners to view quality records electronically.

The owners can use this information for the safety assessment monitoring or plant integrity assessment from the evidence based governance’s perspectives. This approach also integrates and embeds the knowledge engineering and reduces the skill management of retirement of key personals.
