''Rachel'' Anthropomorphic Breast Phantom RMI 169''Rachel'' Anthropomorphic Breast Phantom RMI 169
The ''Rachel'' Anthropomorphic Breast Phantom RMI 169 provides an image with the detail and contrast of an actual mammogram. The phantom may be used for evaluation of the effects of variable conditions encountered in mammography. These include differences between machines, varying exposure parameters, processing conditions, and film/screen combination.
The phantom consist of three parts ; the base BR-12 (breast equivelent) material, the high resolution film layer, and the outer case. The base material is moulded BR-12, formed to provide the variations in thickness which result in differences in radiographic optical density. The film layer is a mercury-intensified x-ray film of an actual mammogram that has been digitaly processed. This film, when aligned with the base, produces a fine detailed structure in the image. The outer case provides protection and allows for consistent positioning in the x-ray field. The lip on the edge of the outer case fits against the compression paddle and the table edge to give consistent and realistic positioning.

Anthropomorphic Breast Phantom RMI 165Anthropomorphic Breast Phantom RMI 165
Moulded from Gamex RMI tissue equivalent to breast material, the Anthropomorphic Breast Phantom RMI provides an image the size and shape of a 5cm compressed breast. The special design provides low, medium and high detail resolution components for a precise, life like breast image. The RMI 165 tests mammographic systems under near clinical conditions and has the same attenuation characteristics as a human breast or 50% glandular tissue and 50% adipose tissue.
The phantom and inserts provide an exellent tool for demonstrating the clinical effects of variations in kV, density, film screen combination and processing conditions.

Digital Mammographic Phantom RMI 156SDigital Mammographic Phantom RMI 156S
The Digital Mammography Phantom RMI 156S is a small version of the Mammographic Accreditation Phantom RMI156. The RMI156S is used for monitoring digital mammography systems currently used for stereotactic biopsy and localization.
The wax insert of the phantom is 5x5cm and contains simulated microcalcifications, nylon fibrils and tumor like masses. These are identical to the test objects in the Mammographic Accreditation Phantom RMI 156, exept the two largest fibres, microcalcification groups and masses are omitted. The largest simulated microcalcification and tumour like mass are the image requirement for the Screen Film accreditation. The second nylon fibril is the accreditation requirement.
An 8x8 acrilic adapter with a cut out for placement of the 5x5 cm wax insert allows users to use the standard RMI 156 base (supplied with the phantom).

This phantom assures optimum imaging performance of your mammographic system by providing a baseline from which you can easily monitor your units performance. The Accreditation Phantom contains test objects which simulate malignancies and other small structures seen in the breast (microcalcifications, fibrils, and tumor like masses). All the test objects are contained in a single wax block which is enclosed in an acrylic base.
This phantom is designed to simulate a 4.0 to 4.5 cm compressed breast. Included with each phantom is a 4mm acrylic disk for making density difference measurements as required by the American College of Radiology (ACR).

Precision Test Patterns RMI 07-501, 07-523, 07-527, 07-538, 1112Precision Test Patterns RMI 07-501, 07-523, 07-527, 07-538, 1112
Precision test patterns provide an easy means of measuring the resolution and modulation transfer function of x-ray systems. They are compatible with all x-ray machines and are widely used by radiology equipment manufacturers.
Resolution in 1p/mm of a mammographic system is an objective means of monitoring image quality. The Mammographic Glod Line Pair Resolution Test Pattern RMI 1112 from GAMMEX RMI provides 5 to 20 1p/mm resolution in 17 segments. The pattern is constructed of a gold nickel alloy mounted in an acrylic wafer. This construction provides high contrast resolutionpatterns in the mammographic energy range. The wafer is equivalent to 25 microns of lead or 2.6mm of aluminium at 20 KeV. Overall size is 10mm by 25mm.

Mammographic Film/Screen Contact Test Tool RMI 157AMammographic Film/Screen Contact Test Tool RMI 157A
Film/Screen contact can have a significant influence on image quality. Today's mammography film/screen systems have higher resolution than diagnostic radiography x-ray systems and require test tools with finer detail.
Regular testing with the RMI 157A detects problems and artifacts early. Use of the tool and the evaluation of the resulting images is simple. Areas of poor screen contact appear darker than areas of good contact. Artifacts are visualized as high density structures. Any dark areas greater than 1cm should be investigated and corrective action taken.
